Terms and conditions of order and right of cancellation
1. General
Dear Customer, please read these terms and conditions of order and delivery carefully before accepting a transaction. These terms shall apply to all transactions between Oy Elokuvateatteri Gilda Biograf Ab and our consumer customers.
2. Service provider
Oy Elokuvateatteri Gilda Biograf Ab, Business ID: 2908542-3.
3. Registration
The Customer may purchase tickets without creating an account in Gilda’s online store.
4. Purchasing tickets and products
Tickets for screenings may be purchased from Gilda’s online store as well as from the cinema box offices (Gilda, Bio Rex Lasipalatsi) during opening hours. The Customer may also order food products in connection with a ticket purchase. By purchasing a ticket or food products, the Customer accepts Gilda’s terms and conditions of order and delivery.
Purchasing tickets to age-restricted films
When purchasing a ticket to an age-restricted film, the Customer must ensure that his or her age is sufficient for viewing the film either alone or when accompanied by a guardian or other person of proper age in accordance with the Finnish Act on Audiovisual Programmes. When purchasing tickets to an age-restricted film, the Customer understands that he or she must be able to prove his or her age with a photo ID in connection with the ticket inspection. If the Customer’s age is not sufficient for viewing the film, he or she must return the tickets to the cinema’s box office before the screening begins. Unreturned tickets will not be refunded.
Returning purchased tickets or products
If the Customer has already purchased tickets that he or she wishes to return or exchange, for instance due to illness or schedule changes, the return may be made by email (teatteri@gilda.fi), by telephone, or at the cinema’s box office no later than 21:00 on the day preceding the screening. Unreturned tickets will not be refunded. In return situations, the money will be refunded to the original payment method; therefore, if you have purchased tickets at the theatre’s box office, you must also return them there.
Please note that there may be screening-specific exceptions to the terms of cancellation. Possible exceptions to the cancellation terms are mentioned in the screening information on the film’s presentation page. If the Customer has purchased a screening ticket/tickets using a gift card, voucher, or corporate voucher (”payment method”), the validity period of which expires before the screening for which the tickets were purchased, the Customer should note that changes to the screening ticket must be made before the expiration of the aforementioned payment instrument, i.e., no later than the last day of validity of the payment instrument. After the expiration of the original payment instrument, no new ticket or cash will be granted for the cancellation of the screening ticket. If the Customer has purchased food or beverage products in connection with the ticket purchase, cancellation of the order must be made no later than 21:00 on the day preceding the screening. Uncancelled food products will not be refunded.
Exchanging purchased tickets
If the Customer wishes to exchange tickets for another day or screening time, the exchange request must be made by email, by telephone, or at the cinema’s box office four hours before the start of the original screening. Please note the opening hours of the box office when making an exchange. When contacting us by telephone, please do so well in advance, as during busy hours our customer service representatives may be unable to answer the telephone. Tickets can be exchanged for a screening of equal value for which the same ticket type is valid.
If the Customer has purchased a screening ticket/tickets using a gift card, voucher, or corporate voucher, the validity period of which expires before the screening for which the tickets were purchased, the Customer should note that changes to the screening ticket must be made before the expiration of the aforementioned payment instrument, i.e., no later than the last day of validity of the payment instrument. After the expiration of the original payment instrument, no new ticket or cash will be granted for the cancellation of the screening ticket.
5. Purchasing vouchers and gift cards
The Customer may purchase vouchers and gift cards from Gilda’s online store and from Gilda’s box offices during opening hours. Vouchers and gift cards can be paid for with culture benefit payment methods only at Gilda’s box offices. Vouchers and gift cards are not subject to a right of return and will not be exchanged for cash.
6. Payment Methods
The Customer may pay for movie tickets with the most common debit and credit cards as well as through online banks in the online store. Cultural benefit payments can also be used for personal movie ticket purchases and voucher purchases. Cultural benefit payments are not valid in the online store; these payment methods are only valid at the cinema box offices.
7. Recording screenings in the cinema
Recording screenings in the cinema for either personal or commercial use is prohibited. Violation of the prohibition may lead to being removed from the cinema. Recording of screenings in the cinema constitutes a copyright infringement.
8. Disruptive behaviour in the cinema
The Customer must not behave in a disruptive or threatening manner toward other customers in the cinema. Disruptive or threatening behaviour includes, for instance, continuous use of a mobile phone, throwing popcorn, kicking seats, or speaking loudly, shouting, or other similar behaviour during the screening. The cinema personnel have the right to remove a disruptive customer from the cinema without any obligation to refund the ticket.
9. Error situations in purchase transactions
Error situations are primarily caused by service interruptions resulting from system failures of our payment transaction partners or disruptions in network connections. Should any errors occur in the online store, the Customer may contact us by email at teatteri@gilda.fi. We aim to resolve any errors at the box office at the cinema and, if necessary, during office hours on the following business day.
10. Validity
These terms and conditions of order and delivery shall remain in force indefinitely.
